Position Summary:
We are seeking a Clinical Consultant to support Diverse Lynx in overseeing the competence and compliance of our clinical staff. This position will be critical in providing expert guidance on clinical assessments, compliance issues, and addressing clinical problems across various healthcare settings. As a key resource, the Clinical Consultant will assist in evaluating clinical staff competencies, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements, and helping resolve any issues that arise during clinical staff deployments. The consultant will be responsible for supporting both in-house staff and contracted professionals, ensuring that care, treatment, and services are delivered at the highest quality .
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Competence Assessments:
Evaluate the competencies of clinical staff, including RNs, LPNs, allied health professionals, and other clinical staff. Assess clinical performance, skills, and adherence to protocols to ensure that all staff meet the required standards of care and treatment.
Compliance Guidance and Support:
Provide expert advice and support regarding compliance with healthcare regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies. Assist in ensuring that clinical staff meet all necessary legal, ethical, and professional requirements.
Problem Resolution and Incident Reporting:
Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting and resolving clinical issues or incidents. Support the clinical staff and leadership in addressing any performance, safety, or compliance-related concerns. Document and report incidents in line with organizational policies and regulatory requirements and help report any incidents to nursing or allied boards.
Regulatory and Policy Updates:
Keep up-to-date with changes in healthcare regulations, clinical standards, and best practices. Advise clinical staff and leadership on any changes that affect compliance, competence, and clinical operations. Help implement policy updates and ensure all clinical professionals are trained accordingly.
Training and Development:
Provide guidance on training initiatives for clinical staff to address any identified gaps in competence or compliance. Collaborate with the HR and training departments to deliver targeted training programs.
Audit and Performance Reviews:
Assist with internal audits and performance reviews to evaluate clinical staff adherence to policies and regulatory requirements. Provide reports on findings, including recommendations for improvements.
Ongoing Support:
Offer ongoing support to clinical staff, answering questions related to clinical practices, regulations, and compliance requirements. Ensure clinical staff feel empowered to meet high standards of care while adhering to all relevant protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
A degree in a healthcare-related field (Nursing, Allied Health, etc.) is required. Advanced certifications or training in clinical assessments, healthcare compliance, or regulatory standards are highly desirable.
Experience:
At least 2 years of clinical experience in healthcare settings (such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities). Previous experience in clinical assessments, compliance management, or regulatory support is a plus.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of clinical practices, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards.
Strong assessment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify areas of improvement in clinical practices.
Excellent communication skills to effectively provide guidance and resolve issues.
Ability to support and mentor clinical staff to improve competency and address challenges.
Detailed-oriented, with excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
Additional Requirements:
Certification in healthcare compliance or clinical assessments (if applicable) is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work with both in-house staff and contracted professionals.
Work Environment:
This role is a consultant position, offering flexibility in terms of location and schedule. The Clinical Consultant will provide support across multiple healthcare facilities, both remotely and in-person, depending on the staffing needs and specific clinical issues. Travel may be required.
