$50,000–$60,000 annually | Full-time | Monday–Friday | On-site in Baltimore

BTST Services is seeking an organized and compassionate Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator to help new clients successfully begin services. In this position, you will serve as a key connection between clients, referral partners, providers, and internal clinical teams.

The ideal candidate has experience in healthcare administration, behavioral health, patient access, referrals, insurance authorization, or care coordination. We provide training on BTST’s programs, systems, and intake procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive and process new behavioral-health referrals.
  • Communicate with clients, families, referral partners, and providers.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Process initial and concurrent service authorizations.
  • Review referral documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Create and maintain client records in the electronic health record.
  • Coordinate client assignments with clinical providers.
  • Track referral progress and provide timely status updates.
  • Follow up on missing documents, signatures, and insurance information.
  • Maintain accurate intake reports and support departmental quality reviews.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
