Job Summary:

The Division of Genetics has an immediate opening for a Clinical Study Assistant II, in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah Spencer F. Eccles School of Medicine. The Clinical Study Assistant II will provide operational support for clinical research activities. Process, enter, and validate project data. Prepare, handle, distribute, file, and archive clinical documentation and paperwork. May assist with ordering, tracking, and distributing study supplies. May interact with study participants to gather or disseminate information. May recruit, screen, enroll, and obtain consent from study participants.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Provide operational support for clinical research activities. Process, enter, and validate project data. Prepare, handle, distribute, file, and archive clinical documentation and paperwork. May assist with ordering, tracking, and distributing study supplies. May interact with study participants to gather or disseminate information.

  • Maintains supply inventory, including ordering supplemental test articles and returning unused test articles to sponsor.
  • Assists in preparation and maintenance of regulatory documents and IRB submissions.
  • Determines visit windows from protocol, schedules subject visits and sends visit reminders. Enters information into a database.
  • Organizes and prepares study related equipment and supplies.
  • Schedules and coordinate pre-study and monitor site visits.
  • Attends and participates in Investigator and staff meetings. Assists team with specific study assignments and timelines.
  • May obtain informed consent, medical history, and demographic information
  • Assists in reporting and tracking adverse events (AE). Reports serious AEs to IRB and sponsor.
  • Processes and ships lab samples according to protocol directions.

Clinical Assistant, II

Mid-level support role. Completes routine tasks under moderate supervision.

Requires at least 1 year of related experience.

This is an Intermediate Level position in the Support track.
