Clinical Assistant Professor/P sychiatric Nurse Practitioner The Conway School of Nursing (CSON) at The Catholic University of America (CUA) seek s to fill a full-time, benefits-eligible Clinical Assistant Professor/P sychiatric Nurse Practitioner position to begin in August 2026. The CSON is distinguished for preparing expert clinicians, nurse scientists, and leaders. The CSON is CCNE accr edited and has over 450 students enrolled in BSN , MSN , DNP , and PhD programs. Ranked in the top 8th percentile by U.S. New s and World Report , the on-line DNP programs prepar e acut e and primary care pediatric nurse practitioners (PNP s), famil y nurse practitioners (FNP s), and adult-ger ontology acut e care nurse practitioners (AGACNP s). Post-gr aduat e APRN certificat e program tracks are also available. The on-line DNP program, appr oved for post-mast ers and post-baccalaur eate path ways, focuses on leadership in advanced nursing practice. The on-line PhD program prepar es expert clinicians as nurse scientists. Teaches onsit e and distance courses at the under graduat e and graduat e level with primary responsibilities in the under graduat e program 2. Develops writt en syllabi and all course materials; evaluat es knowledge of subject matt er taug ht, prepar es and grades exams; and monit ors students academic achie vement 4. Utilizes course materials effectively, demonstr ating thor ough knowledge of cont ent 5. Maintains academic standar ds and course expectations throughout each course 6. Maintains and enhances knowledge of subject matt er taug ht and individual training skills requir ed to remain curr ent with new trends and developments in nursing 7. Follows best-pr actices for online education 8. Implements nontr aditional and inno vative methods of instruction to foster critical thinking 9. Uses effective interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills to teach in the curriculum 10. Participat es in student advisement and academic counseling 11. For any student not perf orming successfull y, provides feedback and develops and individualized remediation plan 12. Contribut es to the ongoing development of the academic programs through course revisions and refinements and implementation of formati ve and summati ve evaluation processes 13. Participat es in development , implementation, and evaluation of objecti ves and goals for the academic programs 14. Participat es in CSON and university committ ees and activities 15. Maintains active license as a nurse practitioner in Washingt on, DC Qualifications: 1. Earned doct oral degr ee (PhD or DNP), certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner plus 2 5 years experience working as a nurse practitioner 2. Eligible for a Washingt on D.C. advanced practice license 3. Nationall y boar d certified as a nurse practitioner (famil y nurse practitioner certification preferred) 4. One to two years teaching experience in a baccalaur eate program 5. Proficiency using online learning platf orms, clinical coor dination softw are, and learning management systems 6. Experience conducting screen-based and in-person (telehealth and on-campus) simulations for nurse practitioner students 7. Excellent communication and organizational skills 8.
