About This Role (Otolaryngology)
In addition to the standard Clinical Assistant responsibilities, this position supports Otolaryngology (ENT) physicians in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role focuses on enhancing patient flow, supporting provider efficiency, and contributing to high-quality patient care within a specialty setting.
This position is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on clinical experience, including U.S. or international medical graduates preparing for residency, licensure, or advanced training.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
• Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
• May perform scribe functions by documenting all provider/patient interactions in the medical record under the
supervision and responsibility of a licensed clinician
• Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms.
• Participates in performance improvement projects.
• Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
• Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.
• Assists with test scoring
• Assists with report documentation
Additional Responsibilities (Department-Specific)
Assist with patient flow, including escorting patients to and from exam rooms and supporting mobility needs
Prepare patients for visits by providing instructions and ensuring readiness for examination
Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and clinical supplies
Support efficient clinic operations and help reduce provider administrative burden
Participate in specialty-specific quality improvement activities
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards
Qualifications:
Education
High School Diploma (required)
Degree in medicine or an allied health field, or intent to pursue a career in healthcare
Qualifications
1 year of clerical or customer service experience (healthcare preferred)
Computer experience with data entry and patient information systems
Certification/Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire
