Overview

The Clinical Applications Trainer/Implementation Specialist is responsible for the implementation, training and providing support for the effective use of the EHR software system from the clinical and staff user perspective.

The role works collaboratively with application consultants and software vendor staff. Functions include working with program staff to fulfill the clinical application implementation, and support the initial set-up of the applications; monitoring the implementation project plan; monitoring measures of product effectiveness, developing training curriculum and lesson plans to train program staff in application use, champion and support application use via frequent attendance at staff meetings, conferences, and other clinical activities, demonstration and coaching, with the software, and other forms of visible support, and provide on-going support and training.

Travel to sites and other locations required. Continue support for additional product configuration and training through widespread implementation of applications as additional staff and programs are brought online.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute implementation project plans
  • Develop and deliver training curriculum and lesson plans to train staff in clinical applications (EHR, Charge Capture, and Ambient Listening)
  • Conducts technical training for end users of applications (EHR, Charge Capture, and Ambient Listening)
  • Responding/troubleshooting applications, user issues and determine resolution and best practices
  • Defines application problems by conferring with users; evaluating procedures and processes
  • Developing, testing, documenting and implementing solutions and enhancements to meet user needs
  • Working with various departments and end-users to identify, document, communicate and enhance standard business processes
  • Work collaboratively with external TeamHealth application (EHR, Charge Capture, and Ambient Listening) consultants and vendors to rectify problems that occur during deployment and maintenance process
  • Serve as subject matter expert in the use of the applications
  • Oversee and perform form development and forms modification to allow custom form usage at program level
  • Participate in testing for system upgrades
  • May perform special assignments and other related tasks assigned

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or IT field preferred or equivalent applications (EHR, Charge Capture, and Ambient Listening) training experience
  • Minimum 1 year of reporting and data analysis experience
  • Minimum 1 year of Electronic Health Record, Charge Capture, or Ambient Listening software system experience
  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to support multiple people, tasks and deadlines
