Clinic Supervisors are considered members of the clinic leadership team. They provide direct care to patients, provide administrative and operational support to clinics, and may also provide clinical supervision and training to clinicians. Clinic Supervisors may conduct individual, group supervision, and/or oversee clinical development of therapists. They provide general support to Clinic Directors, including but not limited to assisting with hiring and onboarding of therapists as well as managing patient transfers and service additions. Clinic Supervisors are organizational culture carriers accountable for promoting clinical excellence and quality outcomes. Exact number of Administrative BUs will vary by market/clinic. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide individual, group and/or family therapy to clients 
  • Provide administrative clinical support to clinics to support overall operations. Amount of BUs to be determined by Clinic Director and Market Leader as allowed in budget. The typical range of approved administrative BUs is 10-15 per week. 
  • Must be able to provide services in person within a clinic site and/or a hybrid model of in- person and work from home days as determined by business needs of clinic and clinical needs of clients. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation including treatment plans, notes, discharge plans etc. Sign/approve documentation for clinicians as required. 
  • May provide individual and group supervision to clinic staff. Supervision to be provided both live and/or via video conference and across multiple sites. Must maintain appropriate documentation of all services provided. 
  • Review clinical documentation of supervisees and clinicians, which includes evaluation of treatment plans, session notes, and related documents, such as discharges and internal transfers. 
  • Assess clinicians across core competency areas; perform frequent audits and provide feedback to clinicians. 
  • Participate in special projects as assigned 
  • Conduct quality audits and review data to identify opportunities for clinician improvement in documentation, etc. 
  • Identify and monitor areas for performance improvement and report concerns regarding compliance or ethics to the Clinic Director. 
  • Provide support to the Clinic Director in the screening, interviewing, and training of new providers. 
  • Assist with intake, referrals, transfers, service additions, and waitlist management, including providing crisis/triage services as needed. 
  • Assist with daily site management, as a backup to CD or AD as needed. 
  • Participate in development and implementation of policies and procedures. 
  • Participate in management of clinical staff training and development. 
  • Collaborate with community agencies as needed with Clinic Director. 
  • Attend required meetings and assist in compliance requirements/tasks. 
  • Assist Clinic Director in gathering materials and needed documents for audits and licensing. 
  • Maintain organized files and track administrative time daily on excel spreadsheet. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in mental health field such as social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy and/or psychology. 
  • Independent clinical licensure, including ability to supervise according to state regulations if providing licensure supervision 
  • Knowledge of state/federal rules and regulations 
  • Strong computer abilities and proficiency with electronic medical records 
  • Strong commitment to professional Code of Ethics 
  • Understanding of privacy and HIPAA requirements 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team especially in stressful situations 
  • Supervisory experience and/or post graduate training in supervision (if providing clinical supervision) (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of current standards, principles, and practices of psychiatric care (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, methods, issues, and approaches in mental health (Preferred)

New Directions Mental Health is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $45 – $53 per billable unit. Clinic Supervisors (non-lead)/Supervising Clinicians are eligible for a supervisory differential that enhances their base rate. Actual compensation may vary based on licensure, experience, market-driven enhancements, and incentive opportunities available for this role. These ranges reflect our current standard compensation practices and may be adjusted over time to remain competitive and aligned with organizational needs.
