The primary function of the Climate Control Technician is to install, repair and maintain portable heating, air conditioning and dehumidifying equipment. This is a non-exempt, full-time position reporting to the department manager.
Essential Job Functions:
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, controls, and related equipment. • Able to use all HVAC-R hand tools required to complete the job. • Good communication skills and coordination with authority, co-workers, contractors, and clients. • Enforce that work is being done in compliance with company protocol. • Produce detailed safety and incident reports as needed. • Read and interpret safety/employment manuals and other work-related documents. • Work extended hours when required for scheduling and/or job completion. • Work in varying weather conditions when required. • Follow written and verbal instructions. • Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies. • Able to lift 80 pounds of necessary equipment; Able to push and pull 75 pounds. Ability to climb a ladder. • Handle exposure to dust, fumes, heights, and high noise levels. • Able to utilize company WO software to completion of projects. • Available to be on a rotating on-call schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends. • Able to handle high stress situations and frequent interruptions. • Use good reasoning and organizational skills. • Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences. • Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work. • Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/Experience/Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent. • Valid chauffeur's driver's license and clean driving record. • HVAC/Refrigeration certification or 2+ years' experience in residential and/or commercial HVAC/Refrigeration. • Able to pass pre-employment 7-year background check.
