VCA Heritage Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and team-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our well-established 4.5-doctor practice in Savoy, Illinois.

What You'll Do
This unique cross-trained position combines the responsibilities of both a Veterinary Assistant and a Customer Service Representative, allowing you to make a meaningful impact from the front desk to the treatment area.
As a Customer Service Representative, you will:
Welcome clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism.
Answer phones and schedule appointments efficiently.
Confirm appointments and make follow-up calls to clients.
Educate clients about hospital services, wellness plans, and preventive care.
Process payments and explain treatment estimates.
Manage medical records and maintain accurate documentation.
Recommend products and services that support pet health.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will:
Obtain patient histories and assist with client education.
Safely handle and restrain patients.
Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas.
Assist veterinarians and credentialed technicians during appointments and procedures.
Fill prescriptions as permitted by state law.
Maintain accurate medical records.
Support patient care with compassion and attention to detail.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient hospital environment.

Busy 4.5-doctor small animal and exotic practice.
Caring for dogs, cats, pocket pets, chickens, and exotic species.
Offering wellness care, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, ultrasound, dermatology, preventive medicine, and more.

Schedule
This is a full-time position.
Typical schedule includes:
Four 10-hour shifts each week
Occasional Saturday shifts
Hospital Hours:
Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who:
Has at least one year of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant, Customer Service Representative, or in a similar veterinary role.
Communicates professionally and compassionately with clients and teammates.
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Has excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and client service every day.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
Lift up to 40 pounds.
Safely handle and restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
Work in an environment that may include exposure to animal allergens, odors, noise, contagious diseases, animal waste, scratches, and bites.

Based upon experience- pay range is $15.50-17.50/hr
