Summary

Field responsibilities including independently performing high level services on large accounts with minimal involvement or intervention of a producer. Identifies client needs and recommends solutions, designs and executes a customized service plan, and reports to each client annually through a stewardship process. Typically has at least 10 years experience or equivalent combination of background, education, skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing and executing a plan to drive down cost, workload, and risk for selected clients.
  • Establish relationships with assigned clients and assume the primary responsibility for client service and retention.
  • Provide leadership to the service team. Conduct regular service team meetings to ensure timely completion of scheduled services.
  • Develop and manage agency relationships with carriers, marketing representatives, underwriters and other service providers.
  • Work closely with home office, departmental personnel and fellow client managers on workflows and new products, processes and services.
  • Handle advanced client, producer, and insurer service requests while maintaining a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with customers, agency, and carrier personnel.
  • Coordinate meetings and training with client’s employees; group and individual basis to include online site training.
  • Coordinate, train and assist clients Human Resource/Benefit Administrators as necessary which includes using carrier websites and train their staff and employees.
  • Conduct periodic coverage and service reviews with clients.
  • Know and follow procedures and HBS Checklists.
  • Assist with escalated claim resolution.
  • Provide input for annual performance appraisals on team associates.
  • Handle all aspects of new business and renewals including completing master applications, employee applications and all other necessary submission materials obtained from client. Responsible to ensure case is successfully installed &/or policy changes processed correctly with carrier.
  • Gather all employee benefit info and build HRc sites; update and revise site as necessary, provide onsite training to clients.
  • Inform, educate and make recommendations to clients about policy coverage’s, plan changes, exclusions and general insurance coverage needs.
  • Attend monthly division meetings as fitting and offered for producers and account executives.
  • Responsible for knowing carrier products and underwriting requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested including exercising discretion and judgment prioritizing workload.
  • Collect data used for the team employee reviews and assist in completion of reviews. Responsible for reporting all team employee reviews to management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • A college degree is desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Life and Health License and meeting continuing education requirements.
  • Minimum of ten years benefit experience and a working knowledge and understanding of insurance coverage’s and carrier products.
  • Understanding and skilled at all basic computer and technology tools.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills for effective communication both verbal and written with the ability to influence others.
  • Must be willing to travel locally as required.
