PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Transportation Clerk will be responsible for reception, phones, and general office work.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High School Graduate or GED from an accredited institution
Preferred:
Class "B" CDL with P& S endorsements
Two+ years job related experience
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Competent in standard office equipment and computer applications
Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
Obtain/maintain Class B CDL with P and S endorsements
Detail oriented and organizational skills
Extensive knowledge of Spring Independent School District
Ability to maintain customer oriented attitude and emotional control under stress
Excellent phone skills
Knowledge and understanding of all phases of student transportation
Bi-lingual preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Transportation receptionist
Answers phones
Assists in dispatch
Office filing
General office work
Drives as a substitute when necessary
Performs other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, prolonged sitting, repetitive hand and arm motions, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require traveling within the district. Mental demands: Maintain emotional control, ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written in English for safety reasons. Environmental Conditions: Work outside and inside; moderate exposure to extreme temperature (hot and cold) and vehicle fumes.
