Job description:
Purpose: Maintain accurate transactional records, providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union procedures. Balance at the end of each day. This person will serve as the face of the credit union and must have a general understanding of credit union processes, products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions.
Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records.
Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; payout money after verification of signatures and member balance
Promote and explain other credit union services such as consumer and mortgage loans, lRAs, certificates, and money orders.
Receive consumer loan, and other payments and ensure the payments match balances due. Enter payments into computer. Generate member receipts.
Places hold on accounts for uncollected funds.
Process mobile deposit submissions according to procedures and place proper extended holds, should they apply
Count, check, and package coins and currency.
Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totalled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Report any discrepancies to the manager as necessary.
Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc
Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station
Check night depository bags and record proper information on the credit union's forms
Review and process member contact information on accounts, according to procedures.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, rules and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and the Office of Foreign Assets Controls.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years' recent experience at a credit union or bank as a Teller, required
Previous cash handling experience required
Teller Cash Recycler experience a plus
DNA experience a plus

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:
Perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
Read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
Speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
Use basic math skills and spell accurately up to a high school graduate level.
Capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
Perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
Effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
Capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
