Position Summary:

Reports to the assigned supervisor. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) directives.

Essential Functions:

• Type correspondence, reports and letters.
• Proofread material to verify accuracy.
• Maintain records and files.
• Maintain appropriate office supplies for the department.
• Operate office equipment, including computers.
• Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.
• Operate telephone communications and mail handling as assigned.
• Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
• Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year related experience required. Must type a minimum of 45 words per minute and computer knowledge preferred. Valid driver's license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
