The Clerical Medical Office Assistant position is part of the Physician Services – Marion Department and is a part-time role working approximately 48 hours per two-week pay period, primarily during day shift hours, Monday through Friday. Standard working hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Flexibility is required to accommodate the practitioner's and department.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical Office Assistant training or experience preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Strong office, organizational, and clerical skills
Above-average computer, oral, and written communication skills
Excellent telephone etiquette, interpersonal abilities, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions under pressure
Tact, diplomacy, and professionalism when interacting with patients and staff
Serve as receptionist and clerical support, greeting visitors and patients and directing them appropriately
Answer telephone calls, schedule appointments, and obtain pre-certifications as needed
Perform general clerical duties including typing, filing, assembling reports, and maintaining patient charts
Order office supplies and manage inventory as needed
Collect payments and assist with billing-related tasks
Assist with special promotions, public relations activities, and patient scheduling for tests outside the office
Support practitioners and other staff with daily office functions
Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations and ensure efficient workflow
