As a process engineer, you will work alongside a talented group of professionals to establish and maintain world‑class process/equipment, implement yield enhancement, and solve complex problems with innovative solutions.Position SummaryThe fab engineering group at Samsung Austin Semiconductor is looking to hire our next team member who is a process engineer. In this role you'll be working alongside a talented team of professionals with a key focus on establishing and maintaining world class process/equipment and implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage along with the ability to identify complex problems and implement solutions.Role and ResponsibilitiesHere's what you'll be responsible for:Monitoring the wafer fabrication process by responding to in‑line issues and dispositions of production wafersQualifying the wafer fabrication processes on new toolsCoordinating the scheduling of process qualifications and equipment down time with manufacturing or equipment engineeringUsing software to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions about processing productMaking adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitoring process parameters when tools return from maintenanceExecuting in‑line changes (CPM) to the process or equipmentCommunicating technical information within the department through presentationsContinuously revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Developing improved processes to increase capabilitySkills and QualificationsHere's what you'll need:BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer ScienceExperience scripting in Python, VBA, or an equivalent languageUnderstanding of statistical methodsExperience with Change Point Management and Lean, TPS, or 5S principlesExperience with Structured Problem Solving (8D, 7‑step, etc.)Experience with software data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)Ability to troubleshoot equipment or process failureAbility to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS FAB protocol and must be able to lift Ability to sit at a computer terminal, use a computer for extended periods of time, and may be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lightsThe current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.Total RewardsAt Samsung SAS, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
