Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and/or Masters in the content area
- Must possess or be eligible for one of the following CTSDE Certifications
- (165/065) Comprehensive Special Education, K-12
Salary: Salary, work year and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the Board of Education and the Suffield Educators Association (Salary Range $51,730-114,405).
Period of Employment: Accepting applications for the start of the 2026/2027 school year.
Reports to: Building Administrator/Director of Special Services
Position Expectations:
- Provide specialized programming to students with Autism or other neurodivergent disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to write accurate and thorough assessment reports, IEPs and progress reports.
- Ability to positively engage teachers, students and families in the learning process.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students.
- Ability to use data to make instructional decisions.
- Ability to build organizational capacity around best practices, literacy instruction and intervention based on our continuous improvement work.
- Ability to administer, analyze and interpret comprehensive academic and social emotional evaluations
- Demonstrates knowledge of special education regulations and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to assess student learning on a continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed
