Position Available: SY 26-27

Position: Physical Education/Health Teacher (1.0 FTE)

Reports to: Building Principal

Primary Function: The successful candidate will implement the physical education curriculum, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness among students. The teacher will create a positive and inclusive environment that supports students' physical, social and emotional growth while aligning instruction with the district and state standards.

Qualifications: Current and Valid CT Teaching Certification (044/043 Endorsements)

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Design, plan, and implement physical education lessons based on state standards
• Ensure accommodations and modifications are made for the growth and development of all students
• Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness and individual, dual and team sports
• Guide students in maintaining acceptable standards of classroom behavior
• Maintain records of individual student achievement and evaluating students on a continuous basis
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times
• Prepare for classes and maintain written evidence of preparation
• Uphold and enforce school rules, school board policies, and administrative regulations
• Work with other members of the physical education/health staff to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods
• Supports and promotes the District's Core Ethical Values with students, colleagues and families
