Certified Nursing Teacher - Allied Health Pathway

Hartford Public Schools is hiring a Certified Nursing Teacher to lead the Allied Health pathway. This role blends classroom instruction with work-based learning, preparing students to earn industry-recognized credentials in CPR/AED/First Aid, CNA, and PCT - and to pursue careers in one of the fastest-growing sectors in healthcare.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering an Allied Health curriculum aligned to state and national nursing education standards
• Managing a classroom environment that supports active, hands-on learning
• Monitoring and communicating student progress to students, families, and colleagues
• Adapting instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree
• One year of relevant work experience in health occupations
• Six semester hours of credit in professional education
• Valid license issued by the Connecticut Department of Health
• Three-credit course in special education (including gifted and talented)
• Note: Candidates missing the nine required education credits may qualify for an interim certificate and complete coursework within the first year.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $55,643-$114,267
• HPS Graduate Bonus: $2,500 (initial hire)
• National Board Certification Bonus: $3,500/year
