Summary

East Granby High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School English Language Arts Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enhance the educational experience.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic performance.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends in English Language Arts.

Requirements

• Valid Connecticut state teaching certification in English Language Arts for grades 9-12.
• Proven experience teaching high school English Language Arts, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Strong passion for literature and writing, with a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the classroom and school community.
