    Job Description

    Enfield Public Schools is seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Kindergarten Educator to join

    our team. The ideal candidate will support young learners' academic, social, and emotional

    development and provide a joyful, developmentally appropriate introduction to school. This

    position emphasizes building foundational skills and fostering a lifelong love of learning.

    Responsibilities

    Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with district

    curriculum and early childhood best practices

    Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students'

    social, emotional, physical, and academic growth

    Use a variety of instructional strategies, including play-based and hands-on learning

    Support early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skill development

    Foster curiosity, communication, creativity, and collaboration

    Assess and monitor student progress using formative assessment practices

    Communicate regularly and effectively with families

    Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, families, and the school community

    Participate in professional learning to remain current with early childhood standards and

    instructional practices

    Qualifications

    Valid CTDOE certification in Elementary, PK-6 (305)

    Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field

    Strong understanding of early childhood development and kindergarten instructional

    practices

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment

    Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience teaching kindergarten or early primary grades

    Experience integrating technology in developmentally appropriate ways

    Knowledge of best practices in early childhood instruction

    Experience working in a diverse and inclusive school community
