Lead Teacher (Ages 3–5) – Strong Leader Wanted
Tenney Preschool and Childcare is seeking a confident, experienced lead teacher to guide a mixed-age classroom of children ages 3–5.
This is not just a teaching role—we are looking for someone who is comfortable leading a classroom, setting expectations, supporting staff, and creating a strong, consistent environment for both children and team members.

We follow a play-based, emergent curriculum, allowing children's interests to guide learning while supporting development across all domains.

What You'll Do
- Lead a mixed-age classroom with confidence, structure, and consistency
- Plan and implement emergent, play-based learning experiences
- Support children's social-emotional development and independence
- Guide and support assistant teachers within the classroom
- Maintain a calm, organized, and engaging environment
- Communicate effectively with families and leadership
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety standards
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Is comfortable taking charge and leading a classroom
- Can make decisions, set boundaries, and follow through
- Has strong classroom management skills
- Understands child development across ages 3–5
- Values collaboration but can also work independently
- Is reliable, consistent, and professional
Qualifications
- Experience as a lead teacher in a licensed childcare setting preferred
- Wisconsin Registry credentials (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong understanding of play-based and emergent curriculum
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Schedule
Monday–Friday 8:30 AM – 5:15 PM (No weekends)
Compensation
$20–$22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
