Classroom Instructional Assistant
The position of a Classroom Instructional Assistant will be availableat East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Must have one of the following:
Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively (orally & writing)
Experience:
Some experience working with children
EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Work prolonged or irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); Regular exposure to noise. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment or adaptive equipment. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) and positioning of student's w/physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students and lift and move adaptive and other classroom equipment. Exposure to biological hazards.
