A day on the road

Picture this: you start your morning with a pre-trip inspection of a Class A tractor-trailer, confirm your route, and head out to keep stores and venues stocked with packaged ice. Some days you’ll run a scheduled route; other days you’ll move full truckloads to specific customer sites. As business needs evolve, your delivery region, route, and even the type of equipment you operate may change—your adaptability keeps our customers happy.

What you’ll do

  • Drive and care for your company tractor-trailer, operating it safely and professionally at all times.
  • Physically unload, deliver, fill, and rotate packaged ice at customer locations, including merchandisers.
  • Complete thorough pre- and post-trip inspections; comply with DOT regulations and federal/state hours-of-service rules.
  • Participate daily in our Daily Visual Management (DVM) process and review results with fellow drivers.
  • Generate invoices for each delivery and finish all required paperwork accurately.
  • Safeguard and maintain driver tools and equipment (handhelds, printers, handcarts, and hand trucks) and keep accurate inventory of them.
  • Immediately report any accidents or injuries—no matter how minor.
  • Pick up company equipment as directed and perform additional operational tasks as assigned.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and processes without exception.
  • Uphold our Code of Business Ethics—honesty, integrity, and the highest standards of conduct are non‑negotiable.
  • Champion safety—because safety is personal for every one of us.

How we work

Our culture is anchored in our “True North” values: listening to the customer, respecting every individual, communicating directly with facts, practicing servant leadership, and continuously improving. You’ll use lean thinking and tools—such as A3 problem solving, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Kaizen—to identify and act on opportunities. You’ll both lead and participate in Kaizen events and value stream mapping activities that elevate performance for customers, teammates, and shareholders.
