JOB SUMMARY: Transport, load and unload product in order to have product available and to deliver product to agencies.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for pick-up, deliveries, loading and unloading and assisting receiving staff.
- Maintain proper CDL Class A license as required by state/federal regulations.
- Maintain, clean, and safely operate all trucks, tractors, trailers and warehouse equipment.
- Submit daily inspections and maintain accurate and timely data base through the trucks ELD.
- Maintain positive customer relationships with product donors and agencies.
- Handle food according to safe food handling procedures.
- Maintain availability for any and all driving assignments.
- Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness, and safe manner.
- Perform warehouse duties and other assignments as required.
OTHER ASPECTS OF THE JOB:
- Maintain a safe driving record as defined by Department of Transportation (DOT) and Harvesters.
- Overtime is available
- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with coworkers, managers, and customers/clients.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Harvesters.
- This position requires travel to other Locations within the service area. It occasionally requires lifting over 50 pounds. Incumbent will spend 50% of the time driving a vehicle (truck, car, forklift, and other machinery) 40% of the time loading and unloading vehicles and 10% of the time performing other duties.
- This position requires an understanding of all Harvesters food safety policies and compliance with all food safety related procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial truck driving or graduated from a certified truck driving school
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Missouri or Kansas Commercial Drivers License (C.D.L.) Class A
- Must pass DOT physical
- Clean driving record
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
