About the Role
Key Responsibilities
As a Class 1 Driver, you will:
- Operate curtain‑side or flatbed trailers to safely collect and deliver customer products, ensuring all journeys are completed to a high professional standard.
- Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and protected using appropriate equipment such as straps, nets, and other load‑securing devices to prevent movement or damage during transit.
- Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company‑issued device, maintaining full compliance and always ensuring vehicle reliability.
- Undertake nights out as required, bringing variety to your weekly schedule while supporting operational needs.
- Maintain consistent communication with the transport team, providing updates on progress and ensuring customer expectations are met.
- Participate in regular training and development to stay aligned with industry standards, safety requirements, and best practice.
- Demonstrate flexibility within the role - two of the available vacancies are cab‑hopping positions, meaning you will be required to confidently operate different trucks as needed.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
