Miller Pipeline is one of the largest natural gas pipeline installation and service companies in the country, operating across 23+ states. Our Claims Specialist will support the day-to-day management of our claims portfolio - primarily general liability (underground utility dig-in incidents), auto, and workers' compensation across multiple states.
No pipeline experience? No problem. We'll teach you the industry-specific side of the work. If you've handled auto or general liability claims and know how to stay organized under pressure, you have the foundation we're looking for.
What You'll Do
You'll be the first point of contact on new claims - setting up files, gathering documentation, and keeping things moving.
Key responsibilities:
- Receive new claim notifications and guide field employees through proper next steps.
- Set up and maintain claim files in our Risk Management Information System (RiskConnect).
- Gather and organize field documentation: incident reports, photos, and locate records.
- Report claims to carriers and TPA; track status and correspondence.
- Monitor open claims and flag reserve or coverage issues to the Claims Director.
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters, defense counsel, and third parties.
- Handle nominal settlements and process payments under supervision.
- Help track subrogation opportunities - especially on utility damage claims.
- Prepare claims data summaries and loss reports for quarterly reviews.
- Attend safety meetings and training sessions to build field-level context.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in claims (auto, GL, WC, or property - any combination).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, multi-state environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office; ability to learn RMIS systems quickly.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
A Plus (but not required):
- Multi-state claims experience.
- Familiarity with GL or commercial auto claims in a construction or utility setting.
- Bachelor's degree or active pursuit of an adjuster's license / insurance designation.
