Claims Administrator

Location: Hartford, CT

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid required in office two days per month (consecutive days; schedule provided at least two weeks in advance). Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of a client office: Wellesley, MA Hartford, CT Portland, OR Baltimore, MD Kansas City, MO.

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 8 months (with potential for extension or conversion to FTE depending on business needs)
  • Pay Rate: $19.00 $20.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Core hours are 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Overtime is required during peak periods; once fully onboarded and performing at full capacity, approximately 10 hours of overtime per week is expected. Overtime may be scheduled outside of core hours, including weekends. During the initial onboarding period, overtime will be minimal.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This role will support Stop Loss & Health Claims Services. You will be assigned claim submissions to manually enter data points into the designated template with a high level of accuracy. Individuals in this role will be subject to quality assurance audits and will be expected to escalate any data issues that arise to upper levels within the Data Intake Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intake claims (approximately 20 per day); accurately enter data and minimize errors, as the role involves QA audits and strict quality expectations.
  • Efficiently and accurately input data into templates, including manual data entry from reports.
  • Demonstrate understanding of processes and the ability to escalate issues.
  • Apply basic knowledge of data intake processes/policies and the ability to identify and escalate data discrepancies appropriately.

Required Skills

  • Preferred experience in claims and medical coding
  • Proficiency in basic office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to be a quick learner of internal claims systems

Important Notes

  • By the three-month mark, the expectation is to reach approximately 95% processing accuracy and 99.7% financial accuracy.
