This is a leadership role that involves strategic planning, team development, management, innovation, and collaboration to enhance our market presence and technical excellence. You will manage LA DOT projects, including transportation, sewer, and drainage design.This is an opportunity to join Westwood's highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients and building the future of Transportation.ResponsibilitiesMaintain ongoing client relationships, pursue new professional connections, and seek new project opportunities with new and current clients.Prepare technical sections of project proposals and participate in interview presentations.Plan, organize, direct, and control project team activities, including reviewing and supervising technical aspects of work as well as defining the project scope, budget and schedule.Primary responsibility for quality control and be the primary client contact for each project.Set goals, evaluate staff performance, and serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff members.Coordinate staff resources with other PMs and Principals throughout the company.Participate in contract negotiations, approve client billing, and secure contract amendments for changes to scope and fees.Meet or exceed group and individual performance goals.Communicate project requirements to all team members.Commit resources of the firm issuing start and stop orders relating to the project progress and client directives within contract requirements.Required SkillsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to manage staff and direct resources effectivelyAbility to effectively communicate at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to manage design projects in a profitable mannerUnderstanding of alternative delivery methodsExtensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elementsKnowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final designGeneral knowledge of construction with experience providing construction phase servicesTrack record of successfully winning and delivering projectsExperience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design teamExperience preparing proposals, scopes of work and qualification packagesExperience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategiesAbility to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.Ability to coach and motivate othersQualificationsBS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalentLicensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in the state of Louisiana (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)8+ years of progressive experience in roadway design consultant coordination and review, roadway drainage, and sewer systems.This position requires travel to project sites and other Westwood offices as neededEqual Employment OpportunityWestwood provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
