Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionWestwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our team as a Transportation Project Manager. This is an opportunity to join Westwood's highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.Our ideal candidate will have 8+ years of roadway design, DOT, and project management experience supporting design projects. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact and growth of a team.RequirementsManage the design and delivery of projects in a profitable mannerOversee the technical aspects of various projectsSupervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the projectDevelop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resourcesReview, interpret and act upon business metrics including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivablesPrepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projectsDevelop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveryComplete monthly project accounting and invoicingImplement and maintain QA/QC proceduresCoordinate with other disciplines, support services and subconsultantsCoordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agenciesParticipate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittals and RFIsResolve design conflicts and field construction issuesRepresent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agenciesWrite proposals and participate and/or lead interviewsGrow, mentor and train staffBuild relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partnersLead business development activitiesNegotiate contract terms and conditionsEnsures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey serviceLead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalismRequired SkillsOutgoing, friendly, approachableExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to manage staff and direct resources effectivelyAbility to effectively communicate at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to manage design projects in a profitable mannerUnderstanding of alternative delivery methodsExtensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elementsKnowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final designGeneral knowledge of construction with experience providing construction phase servicesTrack record of successfully winning and delivering projectsExperience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design teamExperience preparing proposals, scopes of work and qualification packagesExperience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategiesAbility to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.Ability to coach and motivate othersQualificationsBS in Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in WI (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)8+ years of progressive experience in designThis position may require travel to project sites and other Westwood offices throughout the United StatesWestwood provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
