General Summary

As a Civil Project Manager at Alta E&I, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing a variety of civil engineering projects from conception to completion. This position is designed for a motivated engineer ready to take a meaningful step in their career — working across site development, grading and drainage, utilities, and roadway disciplines. You will be responsible for ensuring successful project execution, meeting client expectations, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee the execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address any issues that may arise.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, fostering positive relationships and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular project updates and address client needs and expectations as they evolve.
  • Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, including engineers, designers, and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and challenges associated with projects.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluate and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Uphold high-quality standards in project deliverables.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience in civil or related engineering.
  • Experience in site development, grading and drainage, utilities, or roadway design; background in utilities is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices.
