The Weaver Law Firm is known as a go-to firm for complex real estate disputed in addition to its complex business litigation.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, for mid-level and senior civil litigation attorneys. The attorneys will manage a litigation docket from the first client interview through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing for and taking depositions, arguing motions, attending hearings, and participating in mediations and settlement negotiations. The role involves coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and experts, to move cases efficiently through the litigation process. Senior attorneys may also supervise junior team members, contribute to case strategy, and support business development and client relationship management.QualificationsStrong civil litigation foundation with demonstrated experience in Law, including case strategy, client counseling, and ethical practice.Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions, including dispositive motions, procedural motions, and motions related to discovery.Experience practicing in Courts, including state courts in Texas, with familiarity in local rules, filing procedures, and courtroom advocacy.Substantial involvement in Trials and pre-trial preparation, including jury and bench trials, trial briefing, witness preparation, and evidence presentation.Hands-on experience with Depositions, including preparing witnesses, taking and defending depositions, and using deposition testimony in motion practice and at trial.Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (or eligible for admission promptly).3+ years of relevant civil litigation experience for mid-level roles; 7+ years for senior roles, preferably in business or real estate disputes.Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and courts.Ability to manage a litigation docket independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Experience with business and real estate matters or governmental right-of-way issues is preferred.#J-18808-Ljbffr
