CMDA is seeking a highly-motivated civil litigation associate with 6 years of active civil litigation experience to assist with a fast-paced trial docket and to help grow our Kansas City, Missouri office.
Qualified candidates must be licensed in Missouri and Kansas and have experience with:
• Independently handling an active caseload with little to no supervision • Taking and defending depositions • Parties and experts • Preparing complex pleadings and motions, including: • Petitions • Answers • Motions for summary judgment • Discovery-related motions • Drafting and arguing motions before a trial court
Qualified candidates must have excellent research and writing skills and strong communication and organization skills. Candidates should have high energy, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on new projects and learn new skills quickly.
Attorneys joining CMDA will have opportunities to work on a variety of cases and projects, as well as participate in and handle jury and bench trials in state and federal courts, depositions, motion, and discovery practice, and be responsible for regular client communications.
