A growing engineering and planning firm is seeking a motivated and talented Project Engineer with strong transportation experience to join their Chicago office. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in expanding a dynamic transportation portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Civil Engineering & Transportation Projects:
- Stormwater management & detention design
- Hydraulics and hydrology modeling
- Storm sewer design
- Grading, earthwork, and site geometry
- Underground utilities layout
- Quantity takeoffs, construction specifications & details
- Roadway, intersection, sidewalk design
- Corridor development and concept planning
Project Support & Management:
- Participate in and support a variety of civil engineering projects
- Assist with budget and schedule management
- Prepare reports and plans with limited supervision
- Lead client meetings and internal coordination sessions
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 4–8 years of civil engineering experience
- P.E. license preferred (not required)
- Experience with federally funded projects is highly desirable
- Strong project and time management abilities
- Ability to manage concurrent short- and long-term projects
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Confident communicator with the ability to lead meetings
- Strong independent and team-based working skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and flexible environment
