Civil Engineer - Land Development

Overview

The Civil Engineer will serve as a lead professional responsible for managing land development projects from concept through completion. This role combines technical design, project management, and client interaction to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scope development, and execution
  • Oversee design, permitting, and construction phases
  • Prepare and review construction plans and technical deliverables
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with municipal and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the primary client contact, managing communication and expectations
  • Manage multiple projects, maintaining schedules and budgets
  • Mentor junior staff and support team development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 2-3+ years of land development experience

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • EIT (FE passed) or PE license in Michigan
  • Experience supervising or leading design staff
  • Familiarity with SurvCAD or HEC-RAS

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Utica, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $62.50/hr.
