About the Role

The Civil/Land Development Engineer will be responsible for overseeing projects from site planning to construction. This includes reviewing and representing program directives, providing input on A/E designs, ensuring compliance with Owner requirements, and guiding consultants to meet project goals and design standards. The role requires a strong knowledge base and extensive experience in overseeing projects from site planning to construction. The ideal candidate will have expertise in planning/zoning, site design, utility routing/planning, earthwork, permits, and construction phases.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize civil engineering expertise for design-related activities associated with data center sites or projects.
  • Serve as Google's internal consultant, advisor, and authorized representative throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate with Google stakeholder groups, design consultants, construction management firms, and contractors to execute design and construction contracts.
  • Provide engineering guidance and conduct reviews of civil engineering works related to site layout and data center building design.
  • Contribute to the development of civil engineering guidelines and design standards.
  • Review submitted designs, provide constructive feedback, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop and update civil program specifications.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree and Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Civil or Site Engineering
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control.
  • Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and related technical areas.
  • Familiarity with water/wastewater design and hydraulic modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective technical communication.
  • Knowledge of industry construction methods and techniques.
  • Self-starter with the ability to analyze and resolve issues promptly.
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight for extended periods.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to stay focused on multiple projects throughout various development phases.
  • Proficiency in writing reports, creating documents and presentations, and delivering presentations to large audiences.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $150,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $175,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
