THE PROGRAMPlanning & Renewable Energy (P&RE) - P&RE, located at headquarters in Santa Ana, is responsible for compliance and cost-effective solid waste disposal and resource recovery operations by providing planning, strategies, standards, and tools for compliance systems, operational optimization, and energy conversion. In addition, P&RE manages all renewable energy developments and contracts at OCWR.Regulatory Support Unit (RS) - RS, located at headquarters in Santa Ana, is responsible for regulatory compliant operation of solid waste disposal and resource recovery facilities by providing departmental permitting, reporting, and regulatory coordination services, primarily in the areas of solid waste, water, and air regulations.Prima Deshecha Landfill (South Region) - The South Region Engineering team provides support for regulatory compliance and operations at the active Prima Deshecha Landfill located in San Juan Capistrano, as well as three closed landfills located in Irvine and Newport Beach. South Region Engineering team also supports waste management activities, monitoring environmental controls, and the design and review of engineering plans as OCWR continues to maintain its exceptional regulatory record. In addition, the South Region is also responsible for the design and construction phases of Capital Improvement Projects as the Prima Deshecha Landfill continues to operate for future generations. THE OPPORTUNITYThere are four (4) immediate vacancies with OCWR: one (1) with Planning & Renewable Energy (P&RE), one (1) with the Regulatory Support (RS) unit, and two (2) with Prima Deshecha Landfill (South Region). A masters degree in civil engineering may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
