Sterling Engineering is looking for a Civil Designer in Houston, TX. This opportunity is supporting large-scale land development, roadway, drainage, and civil infrastructure projects, including oil & gas and midstream facilities.
Job Duties:
Assist in the development of 3D models for grading surfaces, roads, paving, and drainage systems using Autodesk Civil 3D.
Create and utilize 3D grading surfaces and perform earthwork volume calculations.
Develop civil design packages and construction documents for land development and infrastructure projects.
Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
Produce detailed drawings and models using the full functionality of Civil 3D.
Support roadway, drainage, grading, and site development projects.
Assist in solving complex design challenges while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Communicate project status and collaborate effectively with project teams.
Qualifications:
Associate degree preferred, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
2–4+ years of experience in civil design supporting land development, roadway design, and civil engineering projects.
Experience with oil & gas facilities and/or midstream projects is preferred.
Strong background in site civil design, grading, drainage systems, roads, and paving.
Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D is required.
Experience creating and utilizing 3D grading surfaces is required.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
