Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Civil Design Engineer to assist with our projects in Detroit! 

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare detailed civil engineering designs for projects involving: 
    • Civil site development
    • Roadways and pavements
    • Water, wastewater, and stormwater systems
    • Public and private infrastructure improvements
  • Develop plans, profiles, sections, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, reports, cost estimates, and specifications
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support permitting and regulatory coordination with municipal and state agencies
  • Review drawings and documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
  • Respond to construction-phase questions and assist with design clarifications
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with internal teams


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 4–7 years of civil engineering experience with emphasis on: 
    • Civil site development
    • Municipal infrastructure projects
    • Private development projects
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of civil design principles and permitting processes
  • Experience working in a consulting engineering environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
