The AmeriCorps VISTA member will build the capacity of the Community Schools program by developing systems, tools, and resources that strengthen literacy programming and family engagement efforts for students and families experiencing poverty. The member will assess current practices, create standardized literacy toolkits and implementation guides, develop partnership engagement systems, establish evaluation and reporting processes, and create sustainability resources for long-term program success. Through collaboration with school staff and community partners, the VISTA will improve program effectiveness, increase organizational capacity, and ensure that literacy initiatives can be sustained and replicated beyond the member's service term.
