City Administrator, part-time, approximately 20 hours per week. City of Maricopa (pop. 1250). Salary DOQ. Maricopa is NOT a CalPERS agency. Open until filled.
Position is accountable to a 5-member elected city council, supervises the citys 6 employees, and administers an annual budget of $680,000, including governmental, proprietary, and special funds. City contracts with Kern County for certain services, including police and fire, plan check, and building inspection. In-house services include wastewater collection/treatment; refuse collection/disposal; animal control; public works; parks; business licenses and permits.
Candidate should be experienced in city/public agency management; state law governing California cities; general city administration; finance; grant procurement/administration; planning/housing law and practice; engineering; code enforcement, and other aspects of public agency management.
Maricopa is the perfect opportunity for a retired City Manager/Public Agency Manager or senior department head to stay involved in the profession on a part-time basis and learn how a small city survives with todays state driven agenda.
