A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Civil Estimator to join our vibrant team. As a Civil Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects, ensuring that financial aspects are accurately estimated and managed. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects, ranging from asphalt and grading to drainage and site development. You will be responsible for managing multiple bids, analyzing pricing, and providing cost estimates. This position requires a deep understanding of DOT Standards, proficiency in ADTek, Heavybid, and Bluebeam, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed project estimates and bids, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accurately represented and costed.
2. Review and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications to understand the project scope and requirements.
3. Utilize industry-specific software such as HeavyBid and AgTek for project estimation and takeoffs.
4. Analyze pricing data, market trends, and construction costs to ensure competitive and accurate bid submissions.
5. Manage multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring each is completed accurately and on time.
6. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project details and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
7. Adhere to DOT Standards in all project estimations and bids.
8. Perform takeoffs for asphalt, grading, drainage, and site development projects.
9. Continually monitor industry trends and advancements to ensure our estimation processes remain current and competitive.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Estimator in the construction industry.
2. Proficiency with project estimation software such as HeavyBid and AgTek.
3. Extensive knowledge of DOT Standards and their application in project estimation.
4. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans accurately.
5. Proven experience managing multiple bids and performing takeoffs.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze pricing data and construction costs to produce accurate estimates.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
8. Thorough understanding of construction processes, including asphalt, grading, drainage, and site development.
9. Detail-oriented mindset, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
