System Director of Supply Chain Management Job Summary The Director serves as the enterprise leader responsible for the overall strategic development, execution, and administrative oversight of Supply Chain Management across North Star Health Alliance. This role integrates all aspects of the supply chain life cycleincluding procurement, value analysis, contract negotiation, inventory management, GPO relationships, and logisticsto drive sustainable cost reductions while simultaneously improving quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. The position reports directly to the VP of Logistics of North Star Health Alliance and requires independent travel to various sites between Carthage and Ogdensburg. Core Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Drive system-wide supply chain improvements by deploying Lean strategies, managing project timelines, and integrating modern supply chain delivery models into new business opportunities. Financial Metric Accountability: Own the PL for cost of goods sold. Establish, monitor, and optimize core metrics including inventory turn quotas, operational productivity (labor, materials, transport), fill rates, and sourcing savings. Contract Sourcing Mastery: Serve as the principal advisor on complex procurement matters. Oversee pre- and post-award processes for local pricing, service agreements, purchased services, and capital placement (such as usage/royalty-free structures). Relationship Management: Partner closely with physicians, clinical staff, executive leadership, outside vendors, and 3rd party providers to influence cost-effective purchasing decisions and build collaborative partnerships. Risk Change Management: Anticipate future organizational threats and opportunities within the healthcare landscape. Proactively lead teams through clinical and business operations transformations. Required Qualifications Experience: 10+ years of progressive healthcare supply chain leadership experience. Education: Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, a health-related field, or a closely related discipline. Technical Skills: Deep expertise in end-to-end healthcare supply chain operations, data analytics, and contract terms/conditions. Leadership Traits: Proven ability to manage change, make decisive short- and long-term decisions, and foster a culture of collaboration, communication, and high integrity. Logistics: Valid Drivers License and the ability to travel independently across all enterprise campuses. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree (MBA, MHA, or MS in Supply Chain Management). Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) or equivalent supply chain certification. Compensation Benefits Wage Range: $41.12$54.49 per hour.
