What you would do:
WEEKEND SERVICES
To ensure the Saddleback Kids ministry program is offered on the weekend. This includes program set-up, setting up and tearing down the rooms used, check-in area, and staffing requirements. Three rooms minimum for 3 age groups. Teaching Explore SK, NLO1, baptism classes, and child dedication classes as scheduled.
PROGRAM
Prepare all curriculum for weekend use, including all print items, keynotes, crafts, etc. Special event weekend prep when needed.
VOLUNTEERS
Recruit and onboard new SK volunteers. Facilitate training and fellowship for SK volunteers. Care and shepherding for SK volunteers.
COMMUNICATION
Weekly e-mail communication to SK volunteers. Family communication as needed. Promotional materials for the ministry. Remain in communication with the campus team and SK central team.
MEETINGS
Weekly campus staff meetings. Monthly SK meetings. Monthly all staff meetings.
What you have done:
- Children’s Ministry experience is necessary. This position requires knowledge, experience and understanding of children age Birth through Grade 5, the Saddleback Church culture, and Purpose Driven Children’s Ministry.
- Administrative experience is required for this position (i.e. Google Workspace, Pro Presenter, Keynote, organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, financial skills to manage budget, teamwork and flexibility).
- A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
- Demonstrates the skills required to manage and organize events, projects and supplies.
- Recruiting and shepherding volunteers.
- Capable of creatively and independently solving problems.
- Ability to foresee and address the needs of their campus children’s ministry.
- Recruit and onboard new SK volunteers. Facilitate training and fellowship for SK volunteers. Care and shepherding for SK volunteers.
- This position has full range of decision making for this ministry as long as the decisions are based within the SK playbook.
Interactions:
- This position is a part of the children’s ministry and interacts with other ministries at their campus. As part of a multi-site church this position will also stay in contact with the central SK team and the children’s teams at other campuses.
- Internally - Director must attend weekly campus staff meetings and any other additional meetings requested by Campus Pastor. Daily responsiveness and interaction with campus staff and volunteer team.
- Externally - Director will be available to volunteer leaders, parents, and children and their campus community. Weekly.
- SK Central Support - Director will receive support, direction and coaching from the SK Multisite pastor and SK Central team. Interactions weekly.
Supervisory Responsibilities: 20-30 Volunteers
Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity and budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. The estimated pay rate for this position is $28-$30 hourly, depending on experience. We will provide a pay rate within our salary structure that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job. The posted wage range does not guarantee a specific job offer.
