Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $28.69/hr. The full salary range for this position is $27.42 - $38.71/hr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University.

Department Marketing Statement: Early Care and Education Services at UCSB provides full day, year-round child care and family support services to student, staff and faculty families. This inclusive program serves over 200 children, ages 3 months to 5 years daily, at two sites in a play and relationship-based approach to learning. The University Children's Center on the main campus cares for children ages 3 months to 3 years and the Orfalea Family Children's Center on the semi-rural West Campus cares for children ages 3 months to 5 years. ECCES offers tuition assistance to income and need eligible families through funding from the CA Dept of Education and has been accredited by NAEYC since 1990.

Brief Summary of Job Duties:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in the Early Childhood Care and Education Services (ECCES) as prescribed by the National Association of the Education of Young Children. Sets up the physical (indoor and outdoor) environment to meet changing needs, maintains a safe, clean, and pleasant environment, models and instructs other adults in best practice, and provides information to parents regarding their children as well as general child development information. Also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies; and works cooperatively and collegially with other staff members of the Early Childhood Care and Education Services Department.
