Job Summary

Benton County is currently seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) - Children and Family Specialist.

JOB SUMMARY

Benton County's Behavioral Health team is adding an additional QMHP to the growing Children and Family program! This QMHP works with children, adolescents, young adults and their families, who are in need of mental health support and treatment. Services to be provided include individual therapy, family therapy, and group facilitation, utilizing evidence-based clinical practice and skills, and in compliance with program standards. This QMHP will be located with our Children's Outpatient team and will provide a combination of clinic-based and community-based services through our outpatient, MRSS, and IIBHT programs. The Children and Family Mental Health team is a dynamic team comprised of QMHPs, QMHAs, Care Coordinators, and Peers who are energetic, creative, and committed to serving the youth and families of Benton County. Self-motivated, dependable, and organized individuals are encouraged to apply. Supervision to obtain LPC or LCSW licensure is provided, and a $1000 training budget is allotted annually for continuing education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:

  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or closely related field; AND
  • 2 years of related mental health work experience; AND
  • Must be registered as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) with Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.

Special Requirements:

  • Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
  • Valid Oregon drivers license or the ability to obtain.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children and families in a mental health setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health laws for adolescents in Oregon
  • Experience and comfort working as part of an intradisciplinary team
  • Familiar with the Benton County area and local resources
  • Open to providing community- and school- based mental health therapy
  • Skilled at treatment planning
