Requirements / Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent AND: Minimum of six (6) college units successfully completed ("C" grade or better) in the area of Child development (focusing on children age birth - 9 years old). Six (6) months experience in working with children in an educational setting. Desirable qualifications include first aid/CPR certificate, bilingual, experience in Early Intervention Program, and willingness to attend professional development to gain knowledge and skills in Early Childhood Education. Two (2) recent letters of reference. Certificate or Transcripts. To be considered, all requirements must be attached when submitting the completed application.

Applicants must successfully complete each part of the examination process in order to be considered further. WRITTEN TEST: TBD - (PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR AN INVITATION TO TEST). SCORING: Written examination will carry a weight of 100%. All examinations must pass with 75% or better. An eligibility list will be in effect for 6 months or until less than 3 applicants remain on the list. If five (5) qualified applicants from the Lancaster School District demonstrate the ability to meet the job qualifications, the position will be filled on a promotional basis.
