We are seeking a dependable Child Care Cook who loves serving children, enjoys creating healthy meals, and can maintain a clean, organized kitchen that meets Tennessee Child Care Licensing and CACFP guidelines. Must be available to work Monday-Friday 6:30 am-12:30 pm at minimum.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for children ages 6 weeks–12 years according to weekly menus
- Follow all USDA meal pattern requirements, portion sizes, and food safety guidelines
- Strictly adhere to food allergy restrictions, classroom allergy postings, individualized care plans, and special diet requirements (medical, cultural, or parent-requested within licensing limits)
- Prevent cross-contamination by following proper food handling, cleaning, labeling, and storage procedures
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen, pantry, and food storage areas
- Track and document food temperatures, meal counts, and inventory as required by licensing and CACFP
- Safely store food in compliance with state and local health regulations
- Assist with menu planning and food ordering while staying within budget
- Communicate professionally with directors and staff regarding dietary restrictions, allergies, menu changes, and meal needs
- Support center routines, special events, and occasional classroom needs as assigned

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old (per TN licensing)
- Previous child care or school cooking experience preferred
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling
- Knowledge of managing food allergies and special dietary needs
- Ability to lift 30–40 lbs (cases of food, pots, etc.)
- Ability to manage time well and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Must pass background check, physical, and drug screening per TN Child Care Licensing
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a love for serving children
