This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time Child Care Classroom Support Assistant for our HAGY Center for Young Children who will be all-in on our mission and who plays a vital role in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for young children. This position supports daily classroom activities, fosters positive relationships with children and families, and helps ensure compliance with health, safety, and educational standards. This role contributes directly to the growth and development of children while supporting the overall success of the child care program.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Some College coursework in a related field.
EXPERIENCE
Required: One (1) year of experience working in the Early Childhood profession.
Preferred: Two (2) years of experience working in the Early Childhood profession.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Preferred: Food Safe Manager, CPR and First Aid.

Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.
Pay grade 3 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Work Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays and varying events as necessary.) Timely and regular attendance for all employees is required to ensure adequate staffing and to meet expected productivity standards throughout the organization.Daily exposure to household cleaning supplies, frequent distracting noise levels and interruptions.
Work Environment: This position works in a childcare environment, requiring regular sanitation. Daily exposure to household cleaning supplies, frequently distracting noise levels and frequent interruptions.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office, cleaning, and teaching supplies as needed. Employee will be required to lift children, change diapers, and assist with other physical caregiving tasks as needed.
