Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and organized Childcare Director to lead our center and ensure the highest standards of care, education, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood development, and the ability to manage day-to-day operations efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee daily operations of the childcare center

  • Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) licensing and safety regulations

  • Hire, train, and supervise teaching and administrative staff

  • Implement educational programs and curricula

  • Maintain strong relationships with families and staff

  • Manage budgets, enrollment, and facility maintenance

  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for all children

Qualifications:


  • Must meet Virginia state requirements for a Childcare Center Director (e.g., CDA, Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or related field)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education and 1 year in a supervisory role

  • Knowledge of Virginia licensing regulations and quality standards (e.g., VQB5, subsidy program participation)

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development

  • Experience with curriculum planning and staff development

  • Familiarity with Procare or similar childcare management software
