The Learning Experience – Cimarron Hills is seeking an experienced Child Care Center Director to lead our growing early childhood education center in Colorado Springs. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished early childhood leader who knows how to develop people, build strong teams, create exceptional family experiences, maintain licensing and operational excellence, and drive enrollment growth. 

Leadership & Center Operations:
  • Lead the daily operations of a licensed early childhood center serving infants through preschool-aged children.
  • Create a positive, professional, and collaborative school culture.
  • Maintain compliance with Colorado childcare licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, documentation, and administrative systems.
  • Monitor staffing, scheduling, labor, and other key operational priorities.
Team Leadership & Development:
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and retain high-performing teachers and leaders.
  • Conduct classroom observations, performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and professional development.
  • Set clear expectations and provide consistent feedback and accountability.
  • Develop employees through intentional coaching, mentoring, and follow-through.
Enrollment & Family Engagement
  • Create an exceptional experience for current and prospective families.
  • Lead and support center tours, enrollment follow-up, and family retention efforts.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with families.
Curriculum & Program Quality
  • Support successful implementation of The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P.® Curriculum.
  • Ensure classrooms provide engaging, developmentally appropriate, high-quality learning experiences.
  • Conduct regular classroom walkthroughs and observations.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a strong culture of health, safety, supervision, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure required licensing documentation, employee files, child files, training records, and operational records remain accurate and current.
  • Conduct regular health and safety walkthroughs and ensure concerns are corrected promptly.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, daycare, or early childhood education program.
  • Must meet Colorado Large Child Care Center Director qualification requirements and applicable Colorado PDIS requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Colorado childcare licensing regulations and compliance expectations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable using technology and data to manage operations and measure performance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other technology platforms used for enrollment, staffing, reporting, communication, and daily operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Center Director, School Director, Preschool Director, or senior Assistant Director in a large licensed childcare program.
  • Experience leading a growing center and building enrollment.
  • Experience with accreditation or other early childhood quality-improvement programs.
  • Demonstrated success improving employee retention, family satisfaction, enrollment, and program quality.
